If you operate a business located within the City limits, you are required to pay your local business taxes to the City of Orange City. This also applies if you are employed as an independent contractor or operate a business from your home.
In addition to municipal local business taxes, Volusia County requires all businesses within the County to pay their business tax with them. Applications for local business taxes are available from the City Clerk.
Listed below are all of the forms required to comply with your local business tax requirement. All forms must be completed and turned in. There is a non-refundable $15 application fee due with submittal of the packet. Home offices or home-based businesses are also subject to a non-refundable $25 charge at the time of submittal and must include a completed “Home Office Agreement” form. Fire inspection fees are payable at the time taxes are paid. Once proper approvals have been received, you will be issued a “Local Business Tax Receipt”.
Local business taxes are due on October 1st of each year. Taxes not paid by that date will be subject to penalties.
