The City of Orange City is currently looking for one (1) individual interested in serving on the City’s Planning Commission.
The Planning Commission consists of seven members, who shall be residents of Orange City and appointed by the City Council. This advisory board is quasi-judicial and has final action authority on variances and conditional uses under five acres in size. The Commission recommends to the City Council on conditional uses more than 5 acres in size, rezonings, text changes to the land development code, and comprehensive plan amendments.
The Planning Commission meetings are typically held on the first Wednesday of each month beginning at 6 pm. Unless otherwise noted, meetings take place in the City Council chambers located at 201 N. Holly Avenue. Individuals appointed to the Commission serve in a non-paid capacity.
