Orange City Council Member Evelyn Robinson was a trail blazer, a tireless and dedicated public servant and the first African-American woman to sit on the Orange City Council. With her passing on October 12, 2018, the City of Orange City lost a strong, forward-thinking leader and a generous and knowledgeable citizen and adviser.

The Orange City Council wishes to honor Evelyn Durant Robinson by naming the playground located within Coleman Park “The Evelyn Durant Robinson Playground”.  A dedication ceremony will take place on Monday, October 14 at 4:30 pm at Coleman Park, 210 E Blue Springs Ave, Orange City, Florida.  The community is invited to the playground dedication.
